The
Curriculum

Grounded in the centuries-old Norbertine tradition, our curriculum is crafted to address the most pressing issues of our age—making the timeless beauty and rich tradition of the Faith resonate to the needs of the day.

The Evermode Institute offers a four year, video-based curriculum that includes 10-12 courses on important catechetical topics. These courses include approximately 4 hours of instruction each semester (representing 40-48 hours of total instruction) that can be easily integrated into a teacher or volunteer catechist's schedule. The full curriculum covers the following:

YEAR 1(Both semesters)

Back to Basics

Dive into the fundamentals of the Catholic Faith with the Norbertine Canons of St. Michael's Abbey and Corpus Christi Priory.

Why Are We Here?

Since the dawn of time, man has asked this foundational, powerful question. We, too, begin our journey here.

Basic Philosophy: "Reality 101"

We continue with some more foundational questions: what is truth, and how can we know what is true? Is there ordered reality?

Who is God? (Basic Theology)

If there is an ordered reality around us, how did it get here? We explore the very basics about God, and what we can know about Him.

Who is Man? (Basic Anthropology)

If there is an ordered reality around us, what is our role in it? We explore the very basics about what it means to be human.

What is sin and why is it a problem?

What happens when we deviate from our role in the created order? What is the practical fallout from sin?

How are we saved from the problem of sin?

We discuss how we can (or cannot!) fix the problem of sin, and why we need a savior.

Who is Jesus?

The person of Jesus, Savior of the World, is the central truth of Christianity. We discuss who Jesus is, why and how He saves us from sin, and how we ought to live as a consequence.

Why do we need the Church?

We carry our focus from Christ to His Church, which advances His mission on Earth.
